Triangle Sandwich.png  WYLIE ISD CHILD NUTRITION SERVICES

Welcome to the Wylie ISD Food Service Department

It is the privilege of the Wylie food service staff to provide nutritious meals to your children. If you have questions or concerns please call 692-4353 ext 1017.

Debit System

All school cafeterias within this District utilize a pre-pay debit system, designed to process student purchases more efficiently and to reduce the amount of cash handling at each campus. The system operates on a pre-pay basis, so students can deposit funds in advance of use.

Each student has an individual meal account and may deposit funds for breakfasts, lunches, milk and a la carte (extra) items

At the end of each school year any remaining account balance is transferred to the student's account for the following year. If you are graduating or relocating you may request a refund . At the end of the school year any balance will be transferred to the Wylie food service general fund.  All account balances need to be paid in full by the end of each month.

 Deposits

Pre-payments are encouraged and mornings are best. Students may prepay in the cafeteria, school office or you may use the Pay Online link through Family Access. Students may pay by cash or check made payable to the school cafeteria. Please include your child's name, account number and the parent name on each check.

 Charges

Due to the nature of our pre-payment debit system, charging meals is discouraged. Students will be allowed to charge two tray line meals to their lunch account at all campuses.  Charging will not be permitted for Ala Carte items or extra items.

In the event that a student's account balance has not been made current after two charges a lunch consisting of a cheese sandwich, fruit and milk will be served. Notices will continue to be sent home until the balance is paid in full.

Students and parents are encouraged to keep track of account balances. The cafeteria manager will make every effort to advise students of low account balances each day.

Low balance notices may be sent home with your children in grades PK-4.Verbal reminders to students as they make purchases, or low balance e-mail reminders may be sent if we have a current e-mail address on file for you.

 A La Carte Purchases

Each school menu is planned according to the USDA regulations and guidelines. Students may be given the option of supplementing their lunch with the purchase of a la carte items, or "extras".  If you do not want your children purchasing ala carte items please call 692-1958 ext 1017 and we will note the restriction on your child’s account.

 Food Allergies

On occasion students have special medical or dietary concerns and are unable to eat a food typically served as part of a school breakfast or lunch. Substitutions can be made on a case-by-case basis only when a current doctor's note is on file for your student.

WYLIE I.S.D.  CAFETERIAS

Wylie School Food Service is set up on a computerized debit system.  All lunch accounts are individual student accounts.  The system allows cashiers to debit meal costs from each student’s prepaid account.

Students may use prepaid money for breakfast, lunch, milk or extra items sold in the cafeteria serving lines.

Students must have money in their account or pay cash the day they eat.  The cafeteria will offer a complimentary cheese sandwich meal if a student does not have money for that day.  Students will be reminded to bring lunch money the next day.

Students are allowed to see their balance each day on the cafeteria cash register screen. They may check in the school office during lunch if they have questions.

You may access your student’s account online through Family Access in order to see what meals and days your student is eating. You may also check their account balance. If you do not have a Family Access account please call your campus secretary to request an account.
