The Wylie Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a $45 million bond referendum to be included on the November 7
election ballot. The proposed bond package addresses the need for expanded classroom space and overcrowding issues at the elementary and middle school levels.

There are more than 1,000 school districts in Texas and Wylie ISD is listed among the Top 20 fastest growing in the state. District enrollment has grown by 200 students annually for the past five years causing a shortage in classroom space and overcrowding at schools. The proposed bond package includes two projects:

  • Construction of a NEW Wylie East Junior High campus that includes infrastructure developments such as utilities and road improvements.
  • Construction to complete the new Wylie East Elementary.

Early voting begins October 23 and continues through November 3 at the Taylor County Plaza and Mall of Abilene. Learn more about the proposed bond program using the left navigation menu.
