Wylie Independent School District offers free or reduced-price meals for children of families whose income is at or below guideline levels. Families may apply at any time during the school year. Any student approved for free and reduced-price meals at the end of last school year may continue to receive free and reduced-price meals for 30 operating days after school starts while the new application for meal benefits is being reviewed.Everyone must fill out a new application each year. The 2024-2025 income guidelines are attached below.

A letter containing valuable information about the Wylie Independent School District meal program will be available on this website or in the Back-to-School Packets in August. Parents are encouraged to complete the application online through FAMILY ACCESS. Directions for applying online are provided in the file link at the bottom of this page.  Applications are also available in the Child Nutrition Services Department at the Administration Office. Applications must be turned in and processed for the benefit to be awarded.

Foster children are also eligible for the benefits. A separate application must be filled out for each foster child. In the operation of child feeding programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, sex, color, national origin, age or disability.

If a parent is dissatisfied with the District’s decision regarding an application or the results of verification, the parent must first discuss the concern with the reviewing official, Kristi Landeros, before requesting a hearing. Call 692-4353 ext 1018. If you are not satisfied, a fair hearing may then be requested by calling or emailing Craig Bessent, Assistant Superintendent, at 692-4353 or craig.bessent@wyliebulldogs.org.
