Students and staff at Wylie East Intermediate pose outdoors with a newly planted 'Moon Tree' sapling and certificate.

Wylie East Intermediate is making headlines again, and this time, it’s out of this world! The district has been featured on Big Country Homepage for receiving a piece of lunar history: Artemis I Moon Tree!

These special saplings were grown from seeds that traveled around the Moon aboard NASA’s Artemis I mission, making them a symbol of exploration, innovation, and growth. Wylie ISD is one of only two Big Country schools selected to receive these extraordinary trees, a testament to our commitment to education and forward-thinking initiatives.

We’re over the Moon to be part of this unique opportunity and can’t wait to see how these trees inspire our students to dream big and reach for the stars! πŸš€
