The Wylie Lady Bulldogs are one of the hottest teams in the Big Country right now. With an incredible 18–2 run in their last 20 matches and a perfect 2-0 start in District 4-5A play, the team knows every opponent is coming for them — and they welcome the challenge.
Junior standout Avery LaCroix put it best: “Knowing that we get everyone’s best game just because we’re Wylie and everyone wants to beat us. So putting out our best effort and expecting that from the other team and not just going in like, ‘Okay, we got this.’ Just staying in that mentality of push.”
Head Coach Shay Cox echoed that mindset, crediting the Lady Bulldogs’ long-standing culture of excellence: “When I came into this program, the standards were set. Each group that comes in wants to stay in that culture, reach that level, and leave it better than they found it. We talk about being the team to get it done — the team to go one step further.”
The next step is a big one: Wylie takes on Abilene High this Friday at 5 p.m. at Abilene High.
It’s great to be a Wylie Bulldog!
