Wylie swim teams earn 6th place among 18 programs at Arlington Invitational

The Wylie Bulldogs dove into another strong performance this past weekend at the Arlington Invitational, finishing 6th overall out of 18 teams representing powerhouse programs from across Dallas/Fort Worth and West Texas.

The meet featured some of the state’s top-ranked teams — including Lubbock High and Klein High — but the Bulldogs proved they belonged among the elite. Wylie earned two podium finishes, with Diego Duarte taking 3rd place in the 200 Individual Medley and Maria Brigino earning 2nd place in the 100 Breaststroke.

“All of our ‘A’ relays finished in the top eight for each event,” Head Coach Pacheco said. “That consistency shows how hard our swimmers have been working and how deep this team is.”

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams displayed impressive depth throughout the meet, contributing to strong point totals that lifted Wylie into the top tier of the overall standings. Against tough competition, the Bulldogs’ energy and teamwork stood out — proof that this group continues to gain momentum early in the season.

Next up, the Bulldogs will travel to San Angelo for the San Angelo Invitational, set for October 31–November 1. The event will be Wylie’s first preliminary/finals format of the year — and another chance to show that this team is built for big stages.
