This school year, the Bulldog spirit comes to life through two new faces — or rather, two new masks. Wylie sophomore Creed Huffington and junior Layton Guinn are teaming up to share the role of mascot for the Wylie Varsity Cheer squad during the 2025–26 school year.

Both see the position as a mix of hard work, humor, and heart. Creed, who followed in his brother’s footsteps, says being a mascot is about awareness and school pride: “You can’t see a lot and can’t see down; you have to be aware of your surroundings. We are the center of school spirit.”

Layton adds his own comic flair: “I’m comic relief for the cheerleaders and want to keep it light and fun. We are the ‘adjective to their noun.’”

From wrangling props to mastering the “three T’s” (terrible, terrific, and terrified fans), these Bulldogs bring energy and creativity to every game. As Layton puts it, “Creed is amazing and genuinely cares about it and is so creative, which encourages me to do my best.”

Together, they’re proving that spirit isn’t just shown — it’s worn. And in true Bulldog fashion, it’s great to be a Wylie mascot. 🐾
