Wylie High yearbook assembly celebrates seniors, staff and the stories captured in the 2025-2026 Growl

There is something special about the first time a yearbook opens.

At Wylie High School’s 2025-2026 Yearbook Assembly, that moment belonged to the seniors. After a year filled with pep rallies, classrooms, games, fine arts performances, hallway moments and all the little in-between memories that make a school year feel like home, students got the first look at this year’s edition of The Growl.

The assembly opened with a recap slideshow featuring photos gathered throughout the year by the student yearbook staff. Page by page, the slideshow reminded students that a yearbook is more than a book. It is proof that they were here, that they grew, that they cheered, laughed, studied, competed and shared a year together.

This year’s book was especially meaningful. The award-winning edition includes the most copies ever, a reflection of the program’s continued growth and the hard work behind it. Mrs. Kirby leads the yearbook class, but she would be the first to point the spotlight back to her students and the countless hours they poured into capturing the year.

Senior yearbook staff member Clara Percival emceed the assembly, helping guide a program filled with gratitude and remembrance. Honorary first copies were presented to outgoing Principal Reagan Berry and next year’s principals, Mrs. Radtke and Mrs. Berry, as a thank-you for their leadership. A dedicated copy was also presented to Tracy Gonzalez and the custodial staff, whose work behind the scenes keeps Wylie High safe, clean and welcoming every day.

The assembly also paused to honor Mr. McDonald, a member of the Wylie High staff who passed away earlier this year. His memory is reflected in the yearbook, a reminder that some stories remain with a school long after the final bell rings.

For seniors, the book is a keepsake. For the yearbook staff, it is the result of patience, creativity and care. And for Wylie High, it is one more reminder that the best memories are often built one photo, one page and one Bulldog story at a time.
