Wylie PTO is announcing a pivotal change in how our dedicated parent and teacher community supports our students.
Effective May 2026, the long-standing, district-wide Wylie Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will be dissolved to make way for the establishment of three independent, campus-specific Parent-Teacher Organizations: one each for the East, West, and South K-5 campuses.
This strategic restructuring comes directly in response to feedback from parents who expressed a strong desire to focus their support, fundraising, and volunteer efforts directly on the campus their student attends. The District believes this new model will foster stronger, more tailored support for each school environment.
"We are incredibly proud of the work the unified PTO has accomplished over the years," said Joey Light, Superintendent. "However, the energy and passion among our growing campus communities have made it clear that a localized approach is what is needed now. We anticipate this new direction will significantly invigorate volunteer engagement and bring a fresh wave of parent and teacher involvement directly to our East, West, and brand new South campuses."
Call for Leadership: Volunteers Needed for Executive Boards
The success of these new organizations—the Wylie East PTO, Wylie West PTO, and Wylie South PTO—depends entirely on dedicated volunteer leadership. The District is issuing an urgent call for parents and teachers to step forward and lead the executive boards for these three independent PTOs.
We are currently accepting nominations for all executive board positions.
