The 2025 school year is starting with a celebration in Wylie ISD. The Texas Education Agency has released its annual accountability ratings, and the district has earned its highest marks yet β climbing from an overall score of 86 in 2024 to 89 in 2025.
That three-point jump reflects the hard work of students, staff, and the entire Bulldog community. Even more exciting, three campuses earned an βAβ rating in the Student Achievement domain!

The Student Achievement domain, which makes up 70% of each campusβs score, measures factors like STAAR performance, college and career readiness, and graduation rates. In 2024, every rated campus earned a βBβ in this domain. This yearβs jump to three βAβ campuses highlights the districtβs continued upward trend in academic excellence.
The progress didnβt stop there. In the βClosing the Gapsβ domain β which measures how well schools help all student groups reach state achievement targets β Wylie ISD saw its most impressive leap yet. Last year, only Wylie High School earned an βAβ in this area. In 2025, all six rated campuses earned an βA,β with some improving by as much as 19 points. This domain accounts for the remaining 30% of each campusβs overall rating.
βThis kind of growth doesnβt happen by chance,β said Superintendent Joey Light. βItβs the result of dedicated teachers, motivated students, engaged parents, and a community that truly believes in the power of education. Our staffβs commitment to excellence is paying off, and weβre proud to see that reflected in these ratings.β
From the classrooms to the community, Wylie ISDβs success story is proof that when Bulldogs work together, excellence follows. And while the district is proud of these results, the focus is already on continuing that momentum into the new school year.
Itβs great to be a Wylie Bulldog!
