Wylie’s Pure Gold Band has had an outstanding season filled with milestones, medals, and music-making at the highest level!
22 students traveled to Midland for the TMEA Region 6 All-Region Band Clinic & Concert, and 11 students advanced to Area to audition for the All-State Band.
Lathen Barr made Wylie history as the first student to advance to the 6A All-State Band!
Maddox and Lincoln Humphries also earned spots in the 5A All-State Band, with Lathen, Evelyn Elliott, and Lincoln performing with the All-Region Orchestra.
At Solo & Ensemble, Wylie took 55 students and brought home 52 medals, with 18 solos and 5 ensembles advancing to State!
The UIL Concert Band earned an excellent stage rating and superior in sight reading, while Honor and Symphonic Bands received straight superior ratings—Honor Band earned a coveted sweepstakes!
Four students were selected for the Region 6 All-Region Jazz Band, performing at Cooper High School.
To top it all off, Maddox Humphries won 1st place in the prestigious Nelda Hodges Young Artist Competition, beating out top musicians from across Texas!
