As the 2024–2025 school year drew to a close, Wylie ISD staff gathered in the Performing Arts Center for the annual End-of-Year Meeting—an uplifting celebration of hard work, resilience, and the unique Bulldog spirit that defines our district.
The event brought together faculty and staff from every corner of Wylie ISD to celebrate our successes, recognize service milestones, and share a well-deserved meal. Lunch was made possible through the generous support of our community:
The Shed – provided the meat
United Supermarkets – fresh veggies
Coca-Cola – drinks
Teapioca – tea and lemonade
Mooyah Burgers – buns
First Financial Bank – grilled and served lunch, plus cookies and chips
This marked the fourth year our Wylie ISD School Board members have stepped behind the grill to serve their staff. Their commitment, along with the contributions of our sponsors, created a special atmosphere of appreciation. Gift bags included tokens of thanks from:
Jay’s BBQ Shack, Ounce Coffee, Potosi Live, The Mill, Grain Theory, and Venture 19.
The celebration also honored incredible years of service with special recognition for long-tenured staff:
25 Years: Lisa Albert, Kelly Conder, Dana Elliott, Teela Locker, Tony Spradlin
30 Years: Jami Anders, Jason Jacobs
40 Years: Jo Gipson
In addition, the following teachers were celebrated as 2024–2025 Teachers of the Year, each one a shining example of excellence in education:
Carla Hooper – Wylie West Early Childhood
Lesa Aiken – Wylie East Elementary
Sara Quintanilla – Wylie West Elementary
Morgan Parvin – Wylie East Intermediate
Peyton Bourland – Wylie West Intermediate
Mara Evans – Wylie East Junior High
Amy Arick – Wylie West Junior High
Garrett Dowell – Wylie High School
Superintendent Joey Light reflected on a remarkable year, celebrating state-level student achievements, new bond-supported facility projects, and the incredible dedication of every Wylie ISD team member—from teachers to bus drivers, custodians to cafeteria staff. His message was clear: no matter the challenge, Bulldogs rise to meet it.
To our retirees, your service has left a lasting mark. Thank you for your years of dedication and for shaping generations of students.
As we look ahead to the summer and beyond, one thing remains true:
It’s great to be a Wylie Bulldog!
