From Spider-Boys to Wonder Girls, Wylie’s youngest Bulldogs remind us that real heroes make healthy choices.

Across Wylie ISD, the halls were filled with capes, masks, and the unmistakable sound of hero-sized laughter as students celebrated Red Ribbon Week — a national campaign that encourages kids to live drug-free and make positive choices.
To see how the week was going, we checked in with some of our youngest Bulldogs — and they were more than ready to report for superhero duty.
Out on the playground, “The Flash” (otherwise known as a very determined kindergartner) showed off his lightning-fast speed, while Spider-Boys swung high from the playground swings — still perfecting that tricky “middle and ring finger” web-sling pose. Captain America flexed proudly for the camera, and Wonder Woman shared her secret to heroism: “I like broccoli because that’s my super food!”

Meanwhile, at lunch, Superman met his match — a plate of spaghetti. “My kryptonite is meatballs,” he confessed before bravely taking another bite. Teachers, acting as trusty sidekicks, helped the heroes battle their next nemesis: the Uncrustable Force Field of stubborn wrappers.
Everywhere you looked, heroes were striking their best Daily Planet–worthy poses, many insisting their “Avenger teammates” join the shot. Matching lunch boxes and friendship bracelets completed the perfect hero gear.
“I’m Hulk, but nice,” one little green powerhouse said, flexing before adding, “I smash bad choices!”

From heroic teamwork to healthy decisions, Wylie’s young superheroes showed what Red Ribbon Week is really about — using your powers for good. And as one teacher said with a smile, “When it comes to making smart choices, these Bulldogs are the real heroes.”
