Today in the Wylie High gym, our community came together as three Bulldog athletes took a meaningful step in their athletic and academic journeys. Parents, coaches, teammates, and friends filled the bleachers to celebrate, sign paperwork, and cheer as each young athlete committed to the next level. The voices of support were strong — “Hats off to a few parents… their support … their success goes directly to you.”
✍️ Colby Garrett — Baseball to Ranger College
Colby Garrett has been a force for Wylie High’s baseball team, earning the title of District 4-5A Offensive MVP this spring. Standing 6’2”, he brings athleticism and versatility as both an infielder and pitcher. On signing day, the excitement in the gym was palpable as Colby took the leap to Ranger College with the full support of his Bulldog family.
🥎 Olivia Volz — Softball to Cisco College
Olivia returned this season after rehabbing an injury and demonstrated not just recovery, but resilience. Her coach shared a snapshot of what really counts:
“She was still an absolute leader and a game-changer… she was at the edge of the seat, like, ‘Please coach, just let me get in there.’”
Throughout the outfield, Olivia covers ground and carries the leadership that comes from overcoming adversity.
⚾ Hudson Tuley — Baseball to McLennan Community College
Hudson Tuley brings a solid profile to the mound and at the plate. From MaxPreps stats showing a .288 batting average, .390 on-base, and 16 RBIs in his most recent varsity season, to travel-team scouting reports highlighting his pitching potential, Hudson chose McLennan as his next step. Hudson’s commitment adds to a strong tradition of Bulldog players moving on to collegiate baseball. His versatility and work ethic reflect the kind of student-athlete who lifts a program and inspires teammates.
Congratulations to Colby Garrett, Olivia Volz, and Hudson Tuley on reaching this incredible milestone. Your hard work, leadership, and Bulldog spirit have left a mark on Wylie High and inspired the next generation of athletes who look up to you. As you trade in purple and gold for new team colors, know that your Wylie family will always be cheering you on—from the dugouts, the stands, and right here at home.
