The UIL Academics Team claimed the Overall Sweepstakes Championship at the Winter at Tech meet, placing 1st out of 43 schools. Briana Allen and Canyon South were each awarded scholarships for earning the highest overall scores in their respective events

Two Wylie Bulldog Debaters compete at the Student Congress State Meet. Senior, Joshua Corrigan, and Junior, Arturo Garcia, competed at the State Meet on January 7-8. Joshua Corrigan placed 5th out of 60 State qualifiers.

This long-standing Wylie tradition is open to WHS sophomores, juniors, and seniors only, and a school ID is required for entry.

Bulldog Debate! After a quick turnaround from Congress State, Josh Corrigan headed to Midland Legacy’s TFA Tournament. He competed in both Domestic and Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, and he swept both, earning first place in both Extemps🥇🥇. As a result, he wanted his TFA State qualification in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking! Prosper, here we come!

Fourteen students auditioned for the All-State Band yesterday at the Area A auditions, and we could not be more proud! Every student who advanced to Area represented our program with excellence. Congratulations to Lincoln Humphries on earning a spot in the All-State Band—an incredible achievement! A huge shout-out as well to Allie Brannan and Maddox Humphries, who were both just two spots away from making the band. What an outstanding showing by all! 🎉🎶
