Wylie Swim Headed to STATE! 💛🏊♀️
The Wylie Swim Team had a strong showing at the Regional Championships, and we’ve officially learned that our Bulldogs have qualified for the UIL State Meet in SIX events!
After Regionals, additional “call-up” selections were announced — meaning swimmers with some of the fastest times in the region also advanced. Wylie picked up two more State spots, bringing our total to six events represented at State.
State Qualifiers:
Diego Duarte – 50 Freestyle & 100 Butterfly
Maria Brigino – 100 Breaststroke
Girls 200 Freestyle Relay – Bankhead, Diehl, Paasch, Brigino
Boys 200 Freestyle Relay – Duarte, Dougherty, Thompson, Heidema
Boys 400 Freestyle Relay – Duarte, Dougherty, Thompson, Heidema
Competing at State means these athletes are among the top swimmers in Texas in their events — an incredible accomplishment!
Congratulations to our swimmers and Coach Casey Pacheco.
