Our Wylie South Elementary Bulldogs saddled up and showed off their best western looks for Western Day! From cowboy hats and boots to bandanas and big smiles, our students brought plenty of West Texas spirit to campus.

Labor Day Weekend Reminder
Wylie ISD families, this is a reminder that students will have a two-hour early release on Friday, September 4.
There will be no school on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Classes will resume on Tuesday, September 8.
From all of us at Wylie ISD, we hope our students, staff, and families enjoy a safe and restful Labor Day weekend with a little extra time to recharge and spend with the people who matter most.

Outdoor Safety Reminder
Wylie ISD has seen an increase in rattlesnake activity on and around some district campuses and athletic facilities. No students or staff have been injured.
Students, families, staff, and community members are encouraged to stay alert around grassy areas, landscaping, fence lines, rocks, brush, shaded areas, and areas near water.
If you see a snake:
• Back away and give it plenty of space
• Do not approach or attempt to move it
• Notify a district staff member or appropriate authority
Our staff are checking outdoor areas before use, and grounds crews are keeping grassy areas cut short and reducing potential hiding places.
Families, especially those with younger Bulldogs, are encouraged to review these simple safety reminders at home.

Earlier today, Abilene Police Department responded to a disturbance near Wylie High School. At the recommendation of APD, Wylie High School and Wylie Early Childhood were placed in Secure status for approximately 11 minutes as a precaution.
APD resolved the situation, and both campuses have now been released from Secure status. Students and staff are safe, and normal operations have resumed.

Destination Imagination Auditions Are Open! 🎨💡
Calling all creative Bulldogs in grades 3-12! Wylie ISD Destination Imagination auditions are now open for the 2026-27 school year.
This year’s audition theme is “Hidden Worlds.” Students will create an original project using imagination, problem-solving and primarily recycled or repurposed materials.
📅 September 4: Early deadline for 5 extra points
📅 September 9: Final audition deadline
🎉 September 18: Teams announced
Completed projects and audition forms should be turned in at the student’s home campus.
