🚜 CTE Spotlight! Big thanks to Development Corporation of Abilene (DCOA) team for helping our Wylie Ag Welding Department purchase a brand new forklift! 👏
CTE Director Amy Fecci shared, “This shared investment is already making a big impact on our students at Wylie High School. Cody Smith and his students couldn’t be more excited to put it to work! We’re so grateful for the continued support that helps create real-world learning opportunities for our kids.”
Hands-on learning like this keeps our Bulldogs moving forward — one weld (and one lift!) at a time.

🏐 Coach of the Week — Shay Cox!
Big congratulations to Coach Shay Cox, head coach of Wylie High School Volleyball, for being named the Raising Cane’s / Texas High School Coaches Association Coach of the Week!
Coach Cox led the Lady Bulldogs to an incredible 32-7 overall record and a perfect 8-0 district run, earning another District 2-5A Championship.
Her calm presence, positivity, and steady leadership have built a winning culture defined by trust, accountability, and team chemistry. As nominator Amy Powell shared:
“Coach Cox remains focused, calm, and steadfast. Always positive, always encouraging. She maintains great relationships with her players and has built a winning culture based on shared values.”
Congratulations, Coach Cox — and thank you for leading with heart, grit, and Bulldog pride!

Two Wylie High students, Canyon South and Steven Cowling, represented WHS at Texas Boys State this summer—joining 1,200 students for an immersive week in government, leadership, and civic engagement in Austin. From campaign teams to delegate roles, they built state and local governments from the ground up and came home with powerful lessons in communication, perseverance, and leadership.
